Dinner at the Dunes

The Dunes Studio and Cafe is a rare combination of beautiful gardens (both edible and non edible), fine craft studio featuring many local artisans and an excellent restaurant overlooking the gardens and featuring its produce.  It is situated outside of Charlottown.

We had dinner there tonight and the food was imaginative, fresh and flavourful.  My starter was a Brie and pear pizza featuring a cranberry relish instead of the usual tomato sauce base.  A cilantro and cashew pesto rounded out the flavours.  This appi was quite substantial so we were glad we shared.  My main was maple glazed ribs with soya and citrus notes. The sauce was really tasty and the ribs were well cooked with the meat falling off the bones. The serving featured fresh garden greens and veggies with a house vinaigrette, smashed potatoes and a fruit chutney.

A beautiful view and an inventive use of locally produced food.  What could be better?

I received no compensation nor incentive for this post.
