The Asian Cooking Culinary Bootcamp put on by the Holland College September 24th was outstanding. Chef Ilona Daniel was an excellent presenter. She was generous with her information, tips and demonstrations and a lot of fun to boot. In teams of five or more we learned to cook several dishes in a commercial style kitchen. We had the best to work with and wonderful new ingredients to try out. We made fifteen recipes which was quite a nice selection of techniques and cuisines. They ranged from gluten free tempura, to Korean style BBQ beef, bass baked in banana leaves, Thai Mango salad and Filipino cassava cake. Yum, yum, yum. There were many more and recipes are all available on the Culinary Institute of Canada website.
